Open Question: If Communism and Socialism is so good, why are they not successful?

Look at the USSR. Well you can't, it doesn't even exist anymore. Look at Cuba. They all drive pre Bay of Pigs American vehicles because they're better then 2012 Cuban cars. Look at Vietnam and Laos: They're just terrible and filled with worthless currencies and oppressive governments. Now finally look at China. The only way China has become successful is because of it's trading with the United States and it slowly weaning towards a more free market. Even then, still a lot of dirt poor people. There is only one somewhat successful nation out of the four current Socialist countries. If it is so good, as I have seen many people on here claim, then shouldn't it be 4 out of 4? If it is so good, shouldn't more then four nations use it? The Gladiator: Laos and Vietnam both claim to be Socialist. Just because they throw the word Democratic in there doesn't mean anything. Besides in Vietnam, the people there aren't rich. It's very similar to India. Either you're flat out rich, a member of the small third class, or poor as hell. Australia, Singapore, Japan, Sweden and Switzerland are Socialist states? Since when? None of these nations have very much power anyway. None of those nations have ever been Socialist, nor is Socialism mentioned in their constitutions.... Read More »
